Continuing their tradition of promoting & showcasing the very best of the South's young musicians & performers, Doug, Craig & Marcel presented the first in a series of intimate concerts to a capacity audience at The Fortune, Dunedin's iconic professional theatre. Whereas the band’s popular “Big Night Out” concerts at Dunedin’s Mayfair Theatre are complex productions with a large cast, the Fortune concerts are designed to give the audience an “up close & personal” entertainment experience with an exciting selection of young artists, each capable of making a substantive contribution to the future of the New Zealand music industry. Starring in the Oxos first production at the Fortune were three diverse and excellent performers. KYLIE PRICE, BAILEY WILEY & GEORGIE DANIELL. On stage with Doug, Craig and Marcel was guitar virtuoso JOHN MEDDINGS, the Oxo Cuban’s guitarist since 1995. Lighting design and operation was by ALLAN TELFER with CALEB FLOCKTON as stage manager/guitar tech. The Oxos are grateful for the hard work & support from Jeremy, Lindsay, Jimmy & all the staff @ Fortune Theatre & Breffni O'Rourke, Owen Rooney, Barry MacConnichie & Mark Laughton @ Radio Dunedin.
