Kylie started singing at 11 and has played guitar since she was seven. With a natural talent for performance and song writing, she is inspired by such contemporary artists as Adele, Beyonce and Jessie J.
Captivating audiences through her voice and guitar, the sincerity of her song writing shines through.
She wrote ‘I Will Be There’ – which won her the 2010 Intermediate New Zealand Gold Guitar Award and is dedicated to her father Graeme.
As a tribute to the miners who perished in the Pike River Coal Mine disaster she penned the heart felt song ‘Under the Earth’.
“It’s an amazing feeling when someone comes up to you and says they can relate to your song. I think musicians are here to tell other people’s stories through their own songs” says Kylie.
Kylie also creates a dialogue through Country music performances and song writing, with Miranda Lambert high on her list of influences.
“Lambert has a way of making a simple song mean so much more. Her work has helped me see the importance of simplicity, and not to over clutter my songs.”
Kylie’s commitment to a wide range of musical styles has pushed her to ever greater heights. She
starred in the New Zealand Premiere of "Dusty Springfield, the Musical" playing second principal
‘Reno’ and played ‘Rizzo’ in Kavanagh College's production of the hit musical "Grease".
She is equally at home performing in front of a stadium audience of thousands, or on stage in an intimate club, in the recording studio or treading the boards belting out a show tune.
Her unique talent has gained her the advice and support of NZ music icon Gray Bartlett and critical acclaim within the Australiasian music industry.

“In that beautiful quiet section, it felt like you could hear a pin drop.
…her voice showed her light ethereal emotion, plus some grunt in the middle section. She also played so beautifully on guitar – to do both of those things brilliantly, good on her! She has a great future as a
performer because she can perform on her own in any environment”.
– Tina Cross, TVNZ Good Morning Find A Star Judge 2011
